Welcome to New York

As I type this, I am, like everyone else, waiting on pins and needles for election results (especially for my home state, known for its election mishaps). Hopefully, we can all take something positive from this election $hit show and grow into better citizens of the world, better Americans, and better people more generally. I am sure I will have an election hangover tomorrow. So, let's shift and talk about less anxiety inducing topics, like travel and fashion.

After a weekend road trip to Yale and five fun-filled days with my cousin in DC, I hopped on the train to visit Emily in my favorite U.S. city, New York. I have always loved New York and welcome any opportunity to visit. Emily and I have discovered that we are perfect travel partners. Finding a good travel partner is not an easy feat, so I am grateful I have found mine. We have already had so many amazing adventures together (Provence, Paris, Napa Valley, Boca Grande, apple picking, and, of course, NYC) and I look forward to so many more!

For this fall trip I packed all of my fall clothing. It was the perfect opportunity to wear everything since I won't be able to in Florida for months. My favorite item this fall is this gorgeous burgundy coat I found at Zara. It is a lighter weight coat, which was a good thing since NYC is a bit warmer than usual at the moment. I also picked up this beautiful blue floral top at Club Monaco while in DC. Club Monaco has a ton of amazing new arrivals at the moment, but this top won me over with its shorter hem, slightly puffed sleeve, and exaggerated cuff.

I wore this look for my first day in the city. I arrived in the afternoon and Emily and I immediately set out to explore and snap some pictures. We wandered Soho, stopped in for happy hour with our favorite ladies at Dagne Dover, and had dinner at Murray's Cheese Bar. That's right, a cheese bar. We had eggplant and burrata crostini followed by burrata mac and cheese. This is why I love New York. The food scene is ridiculously good (and unhealthy lol). Fashion, food, and wandering the city was basically the theme for this trip.

Well, time to turn my attention back to the election... sigh...
