(Not-So) Shabby Apple

I am naturally drawn to clothing with a bit of whimsy and that evokes a particular memory or feeling. For me, that's what makes clothing, and getting dressed, so fun. And that's also why I love Shabby Apple. All of their clothing has just the right amount of playful whimsy and a subtle vintage vibe.

This Surry Hills Dress is no exception! When Shabby Apple reached out to me to collaborate I was so excited. Just scrolling through their website made me want to visit a horse ranch in a fabulous wrap dress or shelve books in a flirty secretary blouse dress. So many adorable looks, so little time!

But I selected this gorgeous coral stretch-taffeta number because it made me want to jet off to Paris! I was immediately drawn to the beautiful gathered neckline and soft coral color. I also loved the simple clean lines and over-all silhouette. I wasn't sure about the midi length, but I think it works well with the long, lean shape of the dress. Short ladies remember, a midi length works best when it hits mid shin!

Not only is Shabby Apple clothing well made (I mean, who knew taffeta could have just the right amount of stretch), it also some how manages to be both playful and appropriate. This definitely comes in handy when you work in a more conservative field, but don't want to wear boring suits. More importantly, Shabby Apple reminds us that clothing doesn't have to be revealing to be feminine, flirty, and fun!
